DISPOSABLE
By Michael Bret Hood

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Drama
LOGLINE:

A relentless detective with a hidden past uncovers a murderous web targeting society's outcasts, risking everything to reveal the truth in a world where human lives are as disposable as the garbage permeating the city.

SYNOPSIS:

In 2005, Tyler Burnstein, a terrified child, watches as his criminal father is beaten and dragged from their apartment by a violent, jaded detective named Frank Medina, while his idealistic young partner Vincent Sartori struggles with the brutality he witnesses. This moment plants a seed of justice—or vengeance—in Tyler’s heart.

Twenty years later, Tyler is all grown up, reinvented as Tyler Burns, a sharp, model police officer now newly promoted to homicide detective. Keeping his past and infamous family name hidden, he partners with a legend of the department—none other than Frank Medina himself. Frank doesn’t recognize Tyler, but Tyler remembers everything.

Their first major case together is gruesome and tragically overlooked: a string of murdered and missing sex workers from a marginalized neighborhood. As Frank brushes them off as "trash," Tyler secretly begins investigating, aided by his fiancée Grace, a savvy and loyal dispatcher, and Pastor James, a community activist begging for justice.

As Tyler unravels the mystery, he discovers that Frank’s best friend, Oliver Thornton, a charismatic but sinister steakhouse owner, is the one luring the victims—using Frank’s mentally challenged brother, Robbie, to avoid suspicion. With the department protecting its own, Tyler walks a dangerous line between loyalty and morality.

Haunted by his past and the legacy of his abusive father, Tyler struggles to uphold justice in a system rigged against the vulnerable. When Dynasty—one of the only survivors—goes missing, and Tyler’s secret identity is exposed, the stakes explode. Frank orchestrates a twisted plan to kill Tyler and frame him for murder, using Grace and Tyler’s sister, Dynasty, as bait.

In a harrowing final confrontation inside Oliver’s steakhouse—now a slaughterhouse of human horror—Tyler faces his greatest test. Just as Frank demands Tyler “dispose” of the women he loves, backup arrives: Sartori and fellow officers, secretly tipped off. Frank, Oliver, and Robbie are finally arrested.

In the aftermath, Tyler actions spark a ripple through the community, exposing the rot inside the blue wall—and proving that even those deemed disposable can change the world.
