SYNOPSIS:
While living quiet lives as strangers in the same residential complex, things go sideways for Karabo Lehong & Lucille Pereira after a dinner date gone wrong with an Art Collector/Cryptic Mobster (Frank Kaminsky) who violates Lucille on a physical level, but is rescued by Karabo’s valiant efforts of bashing Frank on his head with a Chinese solid glass vase following her evening run, she kills him instantly.
Forced to adapt, they decide to get rid of the body, but they run into several challenges: prying neighbours, lockdown roadblocks, night patrol cars and other factors looming over the horizon: Frank’s mobster friends: corrupt cops, politicians and assassins). Stranded, with only the corpse and Frank’s car, they accidentally discover something hidden inside Frank’s trunk: 12 priceless gems. They bury Frank and decide to find ways to cash the gems in while enroute to the Lebombo border. But that is short lived, as they don’t like each other and this causes more problems: the mobster’s car crashes and rolls down an embankment; they lose the stones due to their catfight while the car was in motion.
They’re then forced to find ways to get back on the road. Meanwhile, a search party is sent out to trace Frank as he wasn’t supposed to be on a date with Lucille, but on another date: to deliver the gems to a couple of heavies who were gonna use the gems as a gateway transaction to an oil deal. To make matters worse, the Mobster they apparently killed, isn’t dead. His minions manage to track him down and they go after Karabo and Lucille. But more forces in the shadows join in on the party, seeking their share on the once fabled global crown jewels which are in Karabo and Lucille’s possession. This ultimately puts their lives in jeopardy, as they don’t know where to run to.
