LOGLINE: Two Iranian women desperate for answers about the cruel and inhumane punishment death of their mother. After the fall of the last Shah and the end of the monarchy, Iran is on the brink of a new era. While looking into their mothers death and searching for answers, Two Iranian women Seelah and Ahbeer goes to visit their auntie who was there the day there mother was killed, desperately asks to talk with her to disclose the tragic events that led to the cruel, inhumane punishment of there mother Soraya the night before. Nervous and shocked, Zahra begins to tell them about the unspeakable story of their mother of four who was wrongfully accused of adultery in a land where women have no say. Little by little--between malicious gossip and devious plots, false accusations and the machinations of a whole village-- their mother Soraya's abusive husband had forced a unanimous verdict against a her who defiled Islam and the entire village in the eyes of her family. However, those tragic events from the past takes a dark twist in the present.

SYNOPSIS:

Desperate for answers in the remote Iranian village of Kuhpayeh about the death of their mother, two Iranian women Seelah and Ahbeer goes to visit their auntie Zahra, a woman with a harrowing tale to tell about their mother, Soraya, and the bloody circumstances of Soraya's death, by stoning, in 1986. The two sit down as their auntie Zahra recounts the story to them. The sisters begin to look for ways to resurrect their mother’s soul on the anniversary of her death so that she can become earthbound and get revenge on the people who are responsible for her death.
