As history’s most devastating plague consumes England, a devoted doctor races to save his village while neglecting the wishes of the daughter slowly slipping away from him.
SYNOPSIS:
Set in 1349 during the height of the Black Death, the plague follows Dr. Henry, a devoted physician living in a quiet English village with his young daughter, Anna. Though exhausted by his dedication to his work, Henry shares a warm and loving bond with her, promising he will always return home early despite the growing demands of his profession.
When a mysterious illness begins spreading rapidly through London, Henry is pulled into the chaos as terrified patients flood the local hospital. As the disease tightens its grip across the city, Henry becomes consumed by the desperate search for answers, obsessively studying symptoms and experimenting with primitive treatments in hopes of saving lives. Amid the growing death toll, he discovers a young man whose survival appears impossible, igniting a glimmer of hope that a cure may exist.
But while Henry dedicates himself entirely to the suffering around him, the bond with his daughter begins to fracture under the weight of his absence. As England collapses into fear, death, and despair, Henry is forced to confront the devastating human cost of his obsession to save others.
Spanning plague-ridden hospitals, burning streets, and a collapsing medieval London, 'The Plague' is a haunting historical drama about grief, guilt, sacrifice, and the impossible burden carried by those who try to save the world while losing themselves in the process.
