The future evolves industrial technology and is harvested from a dying Earth which pays the ultimate price. Other planets aren't so different...

SYNOPSIS:

1: A young girl Ava-Sharlot Kelm, visits a holographic and relatively modern museum seeing all the extinct species we see in today's world. Along with a wall of the fallen shrines of environmental activists who have passed suspiciously. It mentions deep sea discoveries uncovered by Marine explorer efforts assisted by government officials of fossil fuels deposits enough to power half the world for several decades. It shows future industrialisation and Earth's demise.

2: Decades later, suffering from air pollution toxic to all, a family cares for their previous generation who are choking on the failure of the past casualties. There is civil unrest in the streets and patrolled by military personnel, the outside is desertified from a toxic world, much like Mars. Disease, poverty, and famine, as they cannot afford to pay for sustaining home environmental control. WW3 starts.

3: Desertified fallout, we follow an aged Ava-Sharlot Kelm. Returning from scavenging and continuing her reservation of withering flora. Drinking far less than the plants, she has flashbacks of the great escape and those casualties. Billions are dead.

Note: This story was written for an OpenScreenplay competition but was never used. Decided to put it out there if someone is interested.
