Hi! I’m Diane, a Minnesota-based freelance writer/editor seeking a new adventure: becoming a script reader/analyst in the film industry.
I’m just finishing up the Hollywood Gatekeepers’ Screenreader course where I’ve learned how to analyze screenplays and write coverage. I’ll apply these new skills in writing unbiased coverage reports for producers (or directors, actors, anyone who might need it) and helping screenwriters polish their scripts and get them past the gatekeepers.
My career path has been rather untraditional and I’ve worn many hats: technical writer, market researcher, copywriter, parachute packer, food blogger and more. Hobbies past and present include cooking, golfing, science/genetics, swing dancing, foreign languages, skydiving and travel.
I'm an avid reader and I’ve always excelled at writing, editing and proofreading, so harnessing those skills for script analysis and coverage feels like a natural progression – and a lot more fun. (Although that one weekend I was the ring toss girl at a carnival was pretty fun.)
Stay tuned as I complete my training and come looking for scripts!
