About Marc

I grew up in Leyland, Lancashire, England, a town historically known for Leyland Trucks. Despite spending my life in Leyland and its surrounding areas, I have had the opportunity to explore much of Europe through holidays and work.

PERSONAL LIFE:
In my youth, I showcased his competitive spirit in various sports. I competed in BMX racing, achieving impressive rankings of 3rd in the UK and 7th in Europe. I also played football (soccer) at a regional level and was scouted by Blackburn Rovers. In my teens, I participated in motocross at the county level.

My passion for sports continued into my early thirties, when I raced cars and ran a motor racing team and scholarship program in the Renault Clio Cup. In my forties, I took up golf, becoming the Competitions Chairman and Director at Leyland Golf Club. I achieved a commendable handicap of 8.

Known for my vivid imagination and visionary mindset, I have always been a dreamer, as my best man noted on my wedding day. My ability to visualize and improve concepts has driven me to seek ways to bring my ideas to fruition.

CAREER JOURNEY:
My career began at 18 as a Junior Programmer, leading to a successful tenure in the tech industry. After eight years as a programmer, I became a manager, leading a team of developers. As the second employee at a tech company, I played a pivotal role in building the company's software and eventually became the Professional Services Manager. I travelled nationwide, providing client documentation and technical guidance to programmers.

When the company was sold to an American firm, I seized the opportunity to start my own venture. In 2010, I founded my company, initially operating from a converted garage. Despite its small beginnings, the company produced high-quality documentation, a professional website, and innovative software, rivalling more established competitors. I led the sales team, formed reseller relationships, and drove the company to success. In 2019, I sold the business to a major French company and retired at 45.

TV WORK
Race Star TV - Producer, Editor, Judge, Part-Presenter
Race Star TV was a reality TV programme aired on Motors TV in 2007, and on YouTube in 2008 and 2009. It followed the Official Clio Cup Scholarship competition, from the early rounds to the final and followed the winner throughout the race season. I was a judge, producer and editor on the show and helped out with in-car filming and racetrack filming. The programme is still available on YouTube and can be viewed on our Double Six Racing channel - @doublesixracing.

WRITING AND NEW VENTURES:
Post-retirement, My wife and I purchased a house with stables, which required significant effort to transform into our dream home. During a challenging period involving personal and family issues, I found solace in writing my autobiography. This reflective process allowed me to appreciate my life's achievements and experiences.

Inspired by this newfound passion for writing, I conceived the idea for a TV program. Leveraging my business acumen and writing skills, I devoted my time to developing the project. I joined a UK broadcaster-based education service, learning from industry professionals like Jed Mercurio (Line of Duty, Bodyguard). I've read many scripts and participated in educational webinars.

I completed the first draft of my TV show's pilot, along with season and series outlines and character bios. I am now ready to share the script with professionals for feedback and coverage.

DETERMINATION AND OUTLOOK:
I am undeterred by hard work or setbacks, viewing the TV industry as an exciting new challenge. With my determination, creativity, and willingness to learn, I aim to make a mark in this dynamic field.

The journey has been exhilarating so far, and I am excited about the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead.
