Against the backdrop of two world wars, queer love survives in secret as a circle of men navigate desire, betrayal, and the rise of fascism.
SYNOPSIS:
In 1914, three dazzling young men—Peter Butler, a brooding scholar; Earl Thomas Stafford, an ambitious aristocrat; and Maxwell Berkeley, heir to a vast fortune—enter adulthood in the glittering ballrooms of Edwardian England. Their bond, complicated by passion, rivalry, and the quiet knowledge of forbidden desire, is forever altered by the outbreak of the First World War. On the battlefields of Ypres, love and loyalty are tested in the mud and blood of the trenches, where intimacy must remain hidden but sustains them through horror.
Back in London, Sarah Jenkins, as independent as she is alluring, weaves herself into their world, her love for Peter entangled with his secret devotion to Max. The group’s tangled loyalties stretch across decades, from field hospitals and country estates to Nazi embassies and wartime politics, where they are branded with a name meant to mock them: the Glamour Boys.
As fascism rises and whispers of persecution grow louder, Peter, Max, and Thomas must confront not only their private desires but also their public duties. Secrets threaten marriages, reputations, and lives. Caught between the expectations of empire and the truths of their hearts, they stand at the crossroads of love and survival, their private lives inseparable from the fate of a world at war.
Glamour Boys is a sweeping historical drama of queer love, betrayal, and resilience—an intimate story played out on the grand stage of the twentieth century’s darkest years.
