SYNOPSIS:

Lana Harris grew up in Conway, New Hampshire. She lost her mother when she was a child and has lived in a close, loving relationship with her father ever since. Her best friend is Keith Wyle, whom she has known since kindergarten. Lana is secretly in love with Keith, but she has never admitted it because she doesn't want to risk their friendship. The high school prom is a pivotal moment in Lana's life: it's one last chance to celebrate with her friends before she and Keith move to New York for college. Lana receives a special gift from her father: her mother's red high heels, which she wears proudly to the prom. However, Fred Tenner arrives to pick her up instead of Keith and tells her that Keith cannot attend. Lana is stunned, but Fred persuades her to go with him. At the prom, Lana senses that something is wrong. They talk about Keith and a mysterious video. Sandy Corner, the popular girl, mockingly hints that Keith has betrayed Lana. The story continues six years later. Lana works at an advertising agency in New York City, where her best friend Noah is her biggest support. One day, Lana receives an invitation to her father's wedding, asking her to return to Conway. Noah encourages Lana to attend the wedding and confront the shadows of her past. Lana returns to Conway, weighed down by the emotional burden. On the occasion of the wedding, she meets old acquaintances who remind her of her past. Fred shows up unexpectedly at the wedding and sees the emotional turmoil on Lana's face. Fred arrogantly provokes Lana, reminding her of past events with sarcastic remarks. Confronted again by the presence of Fred and Keith, she begins her inner struggle: can she forgive or will she choose revenge? Lana doesn't want to hurt her father, so she decides to go back to New York. Keith stops Lana, but she rejects him, giving Keith the lead soldier as a parting gift, a rare piece she bought six years ago to Keith's collection.

They return to New York with Noah, and a few days later Sandy calls to Lana, and is lying about telling Lana's father everything. Lana is desperate to get back to Conway, but on the way, she has an accident and ends up in the hospital. Noah and Keith go to see her, determined to end the problem. They arrange a meeting with Sandy, hoping that Fred, whom she is hiding, will show up.

They come face to face in the woods. Lana's father arrives unannounced, having uncovered the truth about what happened to his daughter, and confronts Fred, and killing him. Keith helps Lana's father, ensuring that the truth will never come to light. Eventually, Lana and Keith resolve their conflict and give each other the chance to explore their feelings.
