In a small, rural town that has seen better days, a group of young friends fight to protect their community from a monster that has been unleashed from deep beneath the earth by a terrible accident.

SYNOPSIS:

Mike and his friends in high school at a small Midwestern town are facing a turning point in their lives. They are about to graduate and face a decision whether to stay in the hometown they love, the only home they've ever known, or leave a town that has been devastated by economic forces beyond their control.

But as they ponder the future, a terrible fracking accident in an old mine that's been turned into a tourist attraction puts them and everyone they know in great danger.

The creature has already struck once and killed a miner but when Mike and his friends try to warn and save the town, they are met by disbelief from the adults in authority. They realize they must face this battle alone, armed only with their wits and their knowledge of the mine where they've worked in after-school jobs.

The confrontation between the friends and the creature rages in an underneath labyrinth of tunnels and caves. As allies perish, Mike and his friends take one last, explosive stand against the beast.
