SYNOPSIS:
Someone is going to be murdered at a posh Rockland Maine Rehab center for reasons that are unclear…
Reality Check is a psychological thriller which takes place at Starlight
Rehabilitation Clinic, a center located in a quiet suburb in Maine.
Starlight, run by Sebastian Marks, is a place of solitude for high
profile clients struggling with addiction and mental health issues.
When a troubled rockstar named Jason “J-Rock” Jambowski enters the
clinic by order of the court, he is instantly drawn into a web of
intrigue.
Issues center around a congressman’s daughter sent to rehab by her
father. Paula becomes infatuated with David, an orderly at the clinic
that, unbeknownst to her, is planning to use her to blackmail her father
during a reelection campaign.
To make matters worse, Paula also has issues with Samantha Kent, an
aging actress with an acid tongue, who spends her days flushing out
gossip and digging in the dirt.
When David ends up dead, initially ruled by accident, and then Samantha
is found murdered, fingers get pointed in Paula’s direction. But the
clinic’s assistant director, Gloria Sanders, who rather indiscreetly
spends a lot of time with Simon, (a patient at the clinic recovering
from a recent injury), begins to believe Simon may somehow be involved
in this recent trend of incidents.
Meanwhile a pair of detectives assigned to the case begin their own
investigation into David’s death, questioning a tight knit group of
residents looking for answers.
When Peter Lincoln, an online tabloid reporter, decides to go undercover
at the clinic looking for a big story to save his flailing career, he
quickly convinces his boss that J-Rock’s admittance just might be the
break the company needs. He gains admittance to the clinic's staff
following David’s death and begins searching for clues to the mystery..
With help from his co-worker and on-again, off-again girlfriend, Katy
Kamura, Peter begins to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
Will Peter be able to gather enough information to identify the killer
or killers before they can strike again, and will the evidence be enough
to bring them to justice, or will his findings point to the wrong
conclusion?
