A struggling modern-day screenwriter is visited by the ghost of a forgotten 1920s Hollywood starlet, who offers him guidance and inspiration, revealing the hidden truths of her time and the shadows that still linger in the glamorous world of cinema.
SYNOPSIS:
Alex Rivera, an aspiring but discouraged screenwriter in contemporary Los Angeles, grapples with his fading dream of making a mark in the competitive film industry. His life takes an unexpected turn when he inherits an old, seemingly mundane typewriter from his late grandmother, who was once a wardrobe assistant in the golden era of Hollywood.
Upon using the typewriter, Alex is startled to discover that it summons the ghost of Evelyn Starke, a vivacious but tragically overlooked actress from the 1920s. Evelyn, bound to the typewriter due to unfinished business, offers to help Alex craft the perfect script, drawing from her own untold stories and the hidden scandals of the past.
As their collaboration deepens, Evelyn guides Alex through a journey of Hollywood's forgotten history, revealing the glamorous façades and the darker undertones of its legacy. Through Evelyn’s revelations, Alex not only finds the inspiration for his screenplay but also uncovers a long-buried studio secret that could shake the modern film industry.
Their partnership blossoms into a deep, albeit spectral, friendship. Alex learns to navigate the complexities of Hollywood, using Evelyn’s experiences to enrich his screenplay, which parallels her life and the echoes of her era's challenges that persist today.
In the climax, Alex decides to incorporate Evelyn's story into his script, giving her the recognition she never received during her lifetime. The screenplay becomes a critical success, praised for its authenticity and depth, and in doing so, releases Evelyn from her earthly ties.
