This upcoming lab will explore the transformative cultural moment surrounding the stories we tell about women. We're in a revolutionary phase, examining the complexities and nuances specific to the female experience. Our narratives now embrace diverse female identities beyond cis, straight, white perfection, celebrating 'messy woman' stories that empower imperfection on screen. Moving beyond, there's a growing interest in exploring stories of healing for women. Shows like BEEF, THE DROPOUT, and INVENTING ANNA explore power, corruption, and psychopathy through a female lens.
Your pilot script is your calling card, not just a sample of your writing. To stand out, it must embody your unique voice and perspective—the story only you can tell. Throughout our eight-week course, we'll focus on crafting relevant female-centric narratives that resonate authentically with your experiences.
Leading the lab is, Colleen Labella, a producer and Director of Development at Shoot to Midnight, brings extensive experience developing TV series and films that amplify voices from the LGBTQIA community and women. With credits including SINGLE DRUNK FEMALE and upcoming projects like Star Wars' THE ACOLYTE, Colleen champions playwrights transitioning to television, dedicated to authentic storytelling.

Oh, now I see the chat. I've been looking for a Zoom link. I guess this would have been here. And we're not meeting. OK.

Yelena, did you know Prof Kathryn Ramey? Not sure when you were at Emerson, but she's been there for awhile now. Anyhow, great school!
