A NUTMEG FALLS CHRISTMAS
By Andrew Carden

GENRE: Romance, Comedy
LOGLINE:

Hotshot reporter Lauren Hammond departs hectic Los Angeles for picturesque Nutmeg Falls, Vermont, an irresistibly quirky village where she'll find love and learn the true meaning of Christmas.

SYNOPSIS:

Young, blonde, and beautiful, Lauren Hammond dreams of living in a winter wonderland – a picturesque place where families are out decorating trees, kids are engaged in snowball fights, and Christmas carolers are singing holiday staples.

Alas, in reality, Lauren's leading the most hectic of lifestyles. An entertainment reporter for the Los Angeles Herald, she's low on sleep and high on stress. After an awful series of events in which Lauren breaks up with her boyfriend, kicks her roommate out and loses her patience on an interview, she accepts a story assignment that will take her all the way to the tiny Vermont village of Nutmeg Falls. There, Lauren is to profile Sally Medford, a former hotshot Hollywood agent who mysteriously ditched Hollywood for Nutmeg Falls decades ago.

Upon arrival in Nutmeg Falls, Lauren is gobsmacked by her surroundings, a village covered in holiday decor that mirrors the winter wonderland of her dreams. She meets a series of quirky characters, among them Chester Douglas, an older gentleman who somehow runs the local inn, gas station, newspaper, beauty salon, florist, pharmacy, and more simultaneously; Doris and Ethel, the village busybodies infatuated with Chester; and, most crucial of all, Holly and Ryan Hartman, siblings Lauren's age who run the beloved local bakery Candyland Cookies.

Lauren, Holly, and Ryan feel an instant kinship – and it isn't long before sparks of romance emerge between Lauren and Ryan. Disenchanted by the hustle and bustle of L.A. and yearning for the tranquility of a place like Nutmeg Falls, Lauren will be faced with the toughest of decisions – head back west or make a new life for herself in Vermont?
