Hi everyone,

My name is Maxwell Joy Moore and im all about making irresistible narratives about the Black trans, disabled experience. I’m an aspiring screenwriter with a tv series idea burning a hole in my brain.. I swear it’s ready to break binaries of all kinds. My question for you: whatchu think?

Should I go back to school for film or should I hack it with programs and webinars?? I got into this exploratory call for a year long mentorship program with the Independent Film School, but I cannot afford the tuition (at least what I know of the cost) because I’m an underemployed disabled non-binary trans Black person. I would have to take out massive loans to go to film school. Ultimately I’m unsure what next steps to take because I’m such a beginner.
