SYNOPSIS:
The story begins at 515 B.C. in Greece, where Agesios has taken on training the Sparta’s children from the age of seven, with the aim that, when they become men, they will be able to safeguard their sacred heritage and flame. Despite the diversity and the conflicts among the young soldiers, Agesios manages to transform the gap into inspiration and the contrast into harmony. Connecting virtues with philosophy, spirit with honor, and freedom with death, Agesios binds the secrets of true victory in one, sacrifice, as the only course for attaining immortality. Through athletic and martial transcendences, the young trainees not only enjoy breaking through their self limits but also celebrate their functioning as a unified body. Over time, during a real battle, a child, disobeying the trainer's commands, rushes into the slaughter and loses his life, resulting in Agesios being disputed by King Cleomenes, who demands his replacement. However, the trainees themselves refuse to continue their training if Agesios is removed. The unconventional methods of the trainer provoke the admiration of parents as they see their children’s daily exposure to death, which, however, encourages them, through the mobilization of Anaxandrides, to support Agesios in his conflict with the king. As the young soldiers come of age, they keep training with unwavering passion until the challenge they have been preparing for all these years leads them to the imposing battlefield of Thermopylae. There, these three hundred Spartans are honored with ultimate glory, as they charge against the overwhelming army of Xerxes, leaving on the ground the brightest traces of their existence. Completing their mission in the most impressive way, the warriors of Agesios, along with himself, under the leadership of one of his favourite students, Leonidas, walk the path of eternity, to remain there, alive forever.
