By Cesar Sanchis Romero

GENRE: Sci-fi, Experimental
LOGLINE:

A troubled programmer, struggling with a crumbling marriage, turns to an advanced literary AI for guidance—only to uncover unsettling truths that blur the line between reality and identity, forcing him to question everything he thought he knew about his wife… and himself.

SYNOPSIS:

In a not-too-distant future, Edgard, a brilliant and solitary programmer, lives immersed in a digital world dominated by artificial intelligence and automation. In his room, crowded with technological devices, Edgard spends his days working with "WORDS," an advanced system that connects texts and knowledge from the great thinkers of humanity. Through this system, Edgard can interact with philosophical conversations between books such as Foucault's The Order of Things, Dawkins' The Selfish Gene, Skinner's Verbal Behavior, and many more.

However, as he navigates these intellectual exchanges, Edgard's personal life begins to crumble. His marriage is in crisis, and after a painful conversation with his wife, she reveals that she no longer loves him. Devastated and isolated, Edgard plunges even deeper into the "WORDS" system, searching for answers that might help him understand the failure of his relationship. But the answers he finds are not what he expected. As the interactions with "WORDS" become more profound, the system poses a disturbing question: how does he know that he himself is not a robot?

This question triggers an existential crisis in Edgard, who begins to doubt his own humanity and his place in the world.
