A paranoid man bursts into a police station, convinced everyone around him is plotting to kill him. As he recounts his day, his twisted reality spirals out of control, leading to a tragic act of violence.
SYNOPSIS:
Late one night, Jack rushes into a police station, clutching a book and shouting that someone is trying to kill him. The officers sit him down to hear his story, and Jack begins to recount his day. From a strange conversation with his wife at breakfast to unsettling encounters on the bustling city streets, every interaction seems laced with hidden threats in Jack’s paranoid mind.
By the time he returned home that evening, his paranoia had reached a boiling point. Seeing his wife holding a kitchen knife while cooking dinner sent him fleeing in terror to the police. The officers, however, find nothing in his story that suggests a real threat. They suggest he speak to a therapist, and Jack reluctantly agrees, appearing to calm down.
But as Jack steps outside, he notices the officers watching him from the doorway. Doubt takes hold again—they’re in on it too. Jack’s paranoia spirals as he misinterprets the actions of a homeless man on the street as an attack. In a moment of blind fear, Jack lashes out violently, triggering a tragic confrontation with a nearby police officer.
What Did You Say? is a gripping psychological short film that explores how paranoia can warp reality, leading to devastating consequences.
