SYNOPSIS:
In the year 2087, society is ruled by strict order and efficiency, where fun is seen as a dangerous distraction. At the center of this oppressive system stands The MAN, a cold, bureaucratic enforcer who believes that emotions and chaos must be eradicated. Opposing him are the High Guardians, a band of eccentric superheroes whose powers are fueled by controlled substances and altered perceptions of reality. Among them is Molly Maiden, a headstrong empath who feels a mysterious connection to The MAN. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn that The MAN was once Agent Graves, a by-the-book government agent who fell in love with the rebellious scientist Dr. Elara Voss—Molly’s mother. Their love was short-lived, ending in tragedy when the government destroyed Elara’s groundbreaking “Cosmic Juice” project, an experiment that ultimately gave birth to the High Guardians’ abilities. As Molly and her team prepare to overthrow The MAN, she begins to question whether he is truly their enemy—or just another victim of the system. In a climactic showdown, the Guardians battle an army of SOBERBOTS, but Molly chooses empathy over destruction. Confronting The MAN, she forces him to confront his past and the love he lost. With his iron will finally breaking, The MAN deactivates his forces, leaving the fate of the world open to change. But as the dust settles, a new threat emerges—one even greater than the war on fun: Project Buzzkill. With humor, heart, and high-energy action, The High Guardians is a satirical superhero story about rebellion, redemption, and the chaotic beauty of human imperfection.
