In 1968, a young CIA analyst, Ethan Carter, on his first field assignment investigates a crashed U.S. bomber carrying nuclear weapons, only to uncover a Soviet-led conspiracy that may have resulted in a stolen warhead. Though the case is buried under layers of Cold War secrecy, fifty years later, Carter is pulled out of retirement when a new generation intelligence officer stumbles upon the classified file. Using modern technology, they track the missing nuclear bomb—only to discover it’s been waiting all along, hidden in the waters off Washington, D.C., primed for detonation by Soviet-era loyalists within the Russian government.

Hey James Owen - this sounds awesome. I would consider trimming down the logline a bit though. Here's a template I use: “After ______ (the inciting incident/the event that sets the plot in motion), a _______ (an adjective and the protagonist's position/role) tries to _______ (goal of story) so/in order to ________ (stakes).” Hope this helps. Great story!
