“The Boy Who Built a Home from Trash”

In a remote Somali village, 14-year-old Asad dreams of a safe and dignified life despite the crushing weight of poverty. Abandoned by both of his parents and left to survive on his own, Asad refuses to give up. With no resources and no roof over his head, he begins collecting discarded trash and scraps from the streets and dump sites—determined to build a shelter with his own two hands.

This powerful and emotional documentary follows Asad’s journey of resilience and imagination as he turns society’s waste into a symbol of hope. Along the way, he faces judgment, hardship, and isolation, yet remains focused on his goal: a home of his own.

“The Boy Who Built a Home from Trash” is a real-life story that sheds light on youth survival, dignity, and determination in the face of impossible odds. It is not just a story of poverty, but of purpose, pride, and the human spirit’s unbreakable will to create something out of nothing.
