Treasure and treachery go hand in hand for a pirate captain obsessed with riches. The illusive Emerald Isle proves too potent for it’s curse.
SYNOPSIS:
A Spanish galleon races for its life through choppy seas under a furtive sky. On its heels is a hostile schooner, the dreaded pirate ship of the infamous Broadmuir. His objective? The Emerald Isle, a mythological, priceless jewel in the holds of his prey.
A fierce battle erupts in which cannon fire cripples the Spanish vessel and the pirate’s board. Hand to hand swordsmanship vanquishes the brave Spanish, leaving only their Captain and a few survivors.
Broadmuir coaxes the whereabouts of the treasure with the point of his rapier, only to find a princess, bound and gagged. Esmeralda fights back, getting loose her tongue and hands. She knows where the jewel is, but needs guarantees to help the outlaws. Broadmuir refuses, until she relates the legend, the curse and the key.
Under the guise of alliance, they’re off to Taymany where she can escape to her royal household. On the way they pause in the little hamlet of Port Haven for provisions, where a common bar fight turns into a narrow escape for Broadmuir and his lieutenant Corvaei.
Time lost gives the North Cross, a warship of Esmeralda’s homeland, opportunity to reclaim their missing princess. The chase runs through forest and field, abbey and castle where love blooms in a time of peril as Esmeralda and Broadmuir save each other from imminent danger. Her mother, the Queen, finally commissions Broadmuir, reasoning a legitimate son–in-law preferable to a scoundrel.
