God calls an unwitting reporter to cover good and evil. Trials and tribulations turn him from skeptic to crusader.
SYNOPSIS:
Caleb Stores is a semi-successful online newspaper writer hoping to climb the journalistic ladder. Called to a mysterious white room, he sees a chance at career advancement. Once there, God appears in the form of a black crow, changing his life forever.
His commission is to use the gifts God gave him to uncover not only truth but imperatives long blurred by societal indulgence. Initially he resists, claiming the plausible deniability of individualism. But, progressively, it becomes apparent that some things are inherently good, while others inherently evil.
Angelica, a sometimes waitress and always angel, is heaven’s agent. She shepherds him through doubt and disbelief, appearing first in the white room, then a favorite restaurant, and finally at the conflux of a new assignment. She compels him to greater enlightenment as he finds answers to unsolvable questions. Questions like the spill on the carpet, missing suit jacket and dusty white powder at the crime scene down the hall.
Joe, and old acquaintance and sergeant on the police force, unknowingly points him in the right direction, leading to the discovery of a slavery ring in the heart of Los Angeles’ garment district. A story told, a job done and lives changed.
Veronica, a true foodie and Caleb’s ex, is still his greatest confidante. She’s the sounding board for his insecurities, providing a voice of reason in his otherwise unreasonable circumstance.
His knowledge of the streets and newfound vigor for righteousness proves an unbeatable combination in the fight for humanity and the Word itself.
