When a secret society of actors faces a mysterious campaign to expose their centuries-old traditions — alongside a suspicious embezzlement scandal — loyalties fracture, and the president’s shocking murder unmasks a traitor whose crusade was never about money at all.
SYNOPSIS:
Founded in the shadows of Shakespeare’s era, The Fifth ACT is a clandestine global society of elite actors who have quietly shaped and protected the craft of theater for centuries. Meeting only in secret, its members—drawn from across nations and generations—devote themselves to preserving the sanctity of performance through quiet philanthropy and unseen influence.
But over the course of a year, the society begins to fracture. Conspiracy theories about their existence circulate online, gaining traction. Simultaneously, troubling financial discrepancies emerge within their charitable foundations, raising fears of embezzlement and betrayal from within. Whispers turn to confrontations during their monthly closed-door gatherings, where tradition and legacy clash with questions of accountability and transparency.
At the center is Alister Wren, the seasoned British actor and long-standing president, determined to hold the group together. Among them is Evelyn Carver, an ambitious new recruit navigating the treacherous politics of a society that mistrusts change.
As tensions simmer over months, loyalties erode. And when Alister is found murdered halfway through their meeting cycle, paranoia takes center stage. With reputations, legacies, and lives on the line, the surviving members must unmask a killer before the curtain falls for good. The two-act play brings mystery and chaos to the stage.
