SYNOPSIS:

This script is autobiographical. My pandemic partner killed himself in the fall of 2023 after a long battle with alcoholism and mental illness. I want to honor the time I spent with him, shine a light on mental illness, and explore the road NOT traveled. In doing this, my alter ego, Jody, has a Sliding Doors like experience and learns there is no wrong way to grow and love.

In the houseboat timeline, Jody has the best year of her life, but it unravels as Jessie struggles with newly diagnosed bipolar disorder and alcoholism. In the path where Jody chooses to prioritize her female friendships, she has an alternate growth path filled with learning about herself through her relationships. This story is about jumping in to an adventurous life, wherever it may lead--and finding yourself along the way. Love may not last, but it always wins.
