TALES OF THE COSMIC TIDE
By Mark Thomson

GENRE: Family, Animation
LOGLINE:

When rifts tear open between mythologies around the world, three legendary heroes — Māui, Sun Wukong, and Amaterasu — must set aside ego, culture, and history to repair the cosmic current that connects all stories, before an ancient shadow known as the Ebon Sovereign consumes creation itself.

SYNOPSIS:

Across a fractured world where Polynesian reefs touch Japanese shrines and Chinese mountains, the “Cosmic Tide” — the spiritual current binding humanity’s myths — begins to unravel. Legends once separated by oceans collide, destabilizing the balance between belief and oblivion.

Demigod trickster Māui, the exiled Monkey King Wukong, and perfectionist Sun Goddess Amaterasu are thrust together after a rift swallows their realms. Reluctant allies, they bicker, clash, and improvise their way through collapsing myths to recover the Tide Sigil, a relic that stabilizes the currents of reality. Along the way they uncover a greater threat — the Ebon Sovereign, a primordial being born from humanity’s divisions, spreading shadow across every culture’s story.

To save existence, the trio must find harmony — not through conquest, but cooperation — discovering that unity itself is the universe’s oldest magic.

Equal parts Arcane, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Moana, Tales of the Cosmic Tide is a mythic, visually breathtaking animated epic blending humor, heart, and cross-cultural imagination. Its serialized structure and ensemble cast position it for franchise expansion through multi-season arcs, trading card tie-ins, and international co-productions.
