THE PHOENIX PILOT
By Jay A Swendris

GENRE: Science Fiction
LOGLINE:

After awakening the last Atlantean survivor from a five-hundred-thousand-year sleep, a young woman is entrusted with his life and his cosmic amulet, placing her at the center of a timeless war for control of Earth's true history.

SYNOPSIS:

ACT ONE: The Awakening

High in the Andes Mountains, an international archaeological team, led by American Dr. Henry Keller and Peruvian field leader Dr. Alejandro Ramírez, unearths a light, massive Bronze Sarcophagus and an impossibly old Sumerian tablet. Ramírez fiercely argues for Peru's claim to the heritage, but the sarcophagus is moved to UCLA. In the lab, tech specialist Jereme and Dr. Keller unlock the sarcophagus with a sonic key, revealing Bennu, a six-foot blond human male in pristine condition. Bennu, revealed to be the last survivor of the Atlantean civilization, awakens with a massive electromagnetic pulse, disrupting the lab and triggering an automated lockdown. He vanishes, immediately sparking a secret search—the "Dragnet"—led by the sharp government agent Mat.

ACT TWO: The Ocean Path

Bennu, weakened and disoriented, is found by Nicole Simons, a resourceful UFO/conspiracy blogger, near UCLA. He explains that his energy is depleted and he must reach the ocean to survive. Nicole, captivated by the impossible mystery, drives him to the Pacific. Bennu's immersion in the water causes his Phoenix Amulet to glow, rejuvenating him, but the mysterious gold shimmer is caught on Nicole's camera, confirming her new reality. Bennu reveals that his species, the Solari, were benevolent stewards on early Earth until their civilization of Atlantis was destroyed by the conquerors, the Anunnaki (Anu). To fully recover, Bennu needs an incredibly expensive, rare alloy (iridium and housing).

ACT THREE: The Price of Survival

Nicole agrees to take Bennu to a Las Vegas casino to secure the necessary funds. Bennu uses his Solar Pulse to manipulate luck and electronics, winning $1.2 million while drawing the attention of casino security. They escape, but Dr. Keller is tracked down by Nicole and agrees to procure the materials for $750,000, confirming his motivation is purely logistical. Keller is followed by his own disillusioned lab assistant, Ted, who has already been secretly bribed by an unknown faction. Bennu, exhausted, collapses in a remote desert shack.

ACT FOUR: The Guardian's Choice

Nicole risks her life to return to civilization to get Dr. Keller. When they arrive at the shack with the materials, they are immediately surrounded by the NSA strike team led by Ted. Bennu manages to use his power to temporarily shield the shack, but is hit by a specialized tranquilizer dart. Before he is fully incapacitated, Bennu, seeing Nicole's pure intent, transfers the Phoenix Amulet—the source of his power and Mira's echo—to her, confirming her as his chosen successor and protector.

Guided by the amulet's unfamiliar pulse, Nicole escapes with Keller in a stolen NSA SUV and races back to UCLA. There, she teams up with an alliance of reluctant protectors—Keller, Mat, and a repentant Ted—who choose to help Bennu escape government custody rather than let him be seized. Bennu heals, but is confronted by the fanatical Dr. Ramírez, who claims Bennu as a deity belonging to Peruvian heritage. Bennu rejects all claims of ownership, cementing his status as a free agent. With fresh covers and a fully restored car provided by her friend Carolyn, Nicole and Bennu drive out into the desert. Their shared quest begins now: The Search for Mira and the continuation of the Solari legacy.
