I'm a writer. I'm also somewhat of a cliche. I've been writing for as long as I can remember. It started with writing crazy stories, then love notes in the lockers of my current heart's desire and so on and so forth. However, recently, perhaps April, i've reached a brick wall. Hiya Jesse I have to agree with Kerry in the eating and exercise stand point. The more active the body the healthy the mind is what I have always believed. There is no right or wrong answer Jesse and I hope you find your muse soon again.

Expand commentThe feeling that you'll never be able to write again feeds back on itself so that you can't write which strengthens the feeling that you'll never be able to write again... Everybody works their own way through this. Maybe sit down with one idea. Not your best, just one idea. On a piece of paper, write three columns: Beginning. Middle. End. Under beginning, write a beginning. Just a sentence, about your idea. If you blank, write: Joe gave his cat a cupcake. For the middle: where you see the middle of your story. If you blank: Joe's cat wanted to go to the fair. You get the idea. Then look at "Beginning" and "Middle". Write some ideas on how your characters get from the beginning to the middle. Just ideas. If you are working with Joe and his cat, figure out how by Joe giving his cat a cupcake leads to Joe's cat wanting to go to the fair. I don't know if this trick will work for you, but maybe by taking your big idea and breaking it down into smaller problems (beginning, middle, end... steps from beginning to middle...) will derail that negative feedback loop.

Sometimes I manage to make notes to develop later. Maybe the writing blocks will fade away when we are a little more relaxed. Hope you pass through it soon! ;)
