SYNOPSIS:

In Cold War Germany, an American war photographer begins a secret and forbidden affair with the wife of an officer steeped in military tradition and ostracized for her childlessness. The woman, who comes from a well-established military family, finds the attention she doesn't receive from her husband in the photographer, who works in the oppressive atmosphere of a foreign country, and this radically changes their lives. As the relationship deepens, the photographer's Indian assistant is wrongfully arrested amidst rising xenophobia and suspicion. Torn between concealing their love and rescuing the innocent assistant, the photographer finds himself caught in a dangerous surveillance ring of military authorities and the officer's family.
