When a Kryptonian raised as a Black civil-rights attorney is caught in a national unraveling, he must reveal the truth about who he is, confront what America wants from him, and decide whether saving the world means stepping into power he never asked for.
SYNOPSIS:
CALVIN ELLIS is a prestige DC Elseworlds political drama about a Black civil-rights attorney of extraterrestrial origin whose public emergence destabilizes law, media, and government at once. After a high-profile non-Terran deportation case erupts into national crisis, Calvin is forced into visibility as the world begins asking whether he is a citizen, a weapon, a savior, or something beyond all three.
Across a three-part opening event, Calvin’s legal work, the aftermath of a catastrophic Black Excellence Gala, and a defining interview with journalist Leisha Lane converge into a single test of identity, transparency, and power. As President Perrine White’s administration weighs precedent, Senator John Marshon-Jones begins to fracture under buried Martian truths, and institutions rush to control the narrative, Calvin must decide what kind of man the world will remember.
The series reframes Superman through governance, Black cultural memory, and public truth. It asks what happens when heroism is no longer about hiding in plain sight, but leading in public.
