Producer

it's been a while since I posted here, we have been working on getting our animation for children's TV project going, but we have also been working on getting our own rendering farm going and I hope to have it in production end of March. That has kept me very busy and as much as I hate to say it awa...

Animated TV Show

I have a pilot for an animated TV show, but I have no drawing experience or a way to get the show animated. Any ideas?

Raymond Zachariasse

The infamous Blender :) Really difficult learning curve. But you can make great things with it.

Nice to meet you, Julian. Once you have a defined audience, it is time to define history and concept, so keep this in mind:

How many minutes in duration should the animation have?

How many and which mai...

Who attended the American Film Market this year? How it went for you?

This was our first attempt at the AFM, and considering we only have two movies in development I have to admit it went quite good for us so far, and while we're still contracting with buyers, I was curious to know how it went for others, let's share stories and experiences, let's connect!

Alan M. Cossettini

Thank you Christopher McDonell for sharing, we also attended the AFM for the first year, and yes, I recommend this event to everybody out there looking for business. As you mentioned, response was exc...

Christopher McDonell

Right on! I’m finding the same. The AFM is considered a litmus test by some. If response to your film is good, good things happen when you come home.

We also went to AFM, we got some interest from buyers but the one thing that helped us was the fact that we had partners in L.A. that helped us on our cartoon (for TV) project and that helped off set the risk. Would I go again next year .... not sure yet.

Rodney Wild

AFM was interesting .... The only thing I did not like was that it was hard to tell who was buy and who was selling and who was doing both. Not sure of the outcome yet, but if nothing else it got me away from -20 and snow.

Writing a Film Investment Package

I'm putting together a film investment package to fund my movie 'Killer Eyes' and am finding it daunting - any suggestions how to make it less so? Frankly I hardly know how to start estimating all the costs of making a movie. I've read the classic books on this and even have an example of a film bud...

Lauran, if you are going to do it yourself, rather than hiring a line producer, you have to learn how to break down a script first. Search for that and you will have an understanding of page count (no...

Thx Laurie, yes still haven't got very far with this - for various reasons. Have been breaking down the script.

Sounds like you're putting together a business plan. You can put that together yourself. But remember, the first question from sales agents/distribs will be "Who's in it?"

AFM - going and Saturday cocktails?

Hi Stage32,

Checking in for AFM this year - who's going and who's having cocktails at the carousel on Saturday?

Renee Topper

I will be there with Story Matter projects:) See you at the Carousel!

Rodney Wild

Did not see any stage 32 people there, sorry I missed everyone.

Steven Harris Anzelowitz

Rodney Wild I did not go either but I know stage 32 was well represented. As a matter of fact I believe Richard "RB" Botto & Amanda Toney participated in a panel discussion on crowd sourcing / crowd f...
