Trapped in their old apartment, Cane faces offs with ex-fiancée Yasmine, who’ll return his mother’s heirloom ring—if he gives her a baby.
SYNOPSIS:
Cane and Yasmine were together for eight years--and engaged for four—years Yasmine thought were good ones—until Cane ended it all in the wake of fresh, new love. He is even ready to propose to the new woman--as soon as he retrieves his mother's engagement ring from the apartment he and his ex-fiancee once shared. Letting himself into the apartment, Cane expects to grab the ring and be gone—but Yasmine is home, and she has a plan. Yasmine will give Cane his mother's ring, but only after he gives her what she had long been promised her--a baby. Stunned by the request, Cane adamantly refuses but, in his guilt, tries everything to convince his ex that she doesn’t need him to have the life of her dreams, even as he feels her increasing pull and the lingering heat between them. In the end, Cane must confront a reckoning as he and Yasmine face off over their eight years as a couple and arrive at truth and consequences that will forever alter their lives. A taut, tense two-hander in real time, THE WAY IT IS asks who can hold the power in a patriarchal world.

This is a great start to your logline and synopsis! I'd love to see Yasmine in your logline and a bit about the sinister motives she has for Cane.
