SYNOPSIS:

Tony mysteriously fled their hometown fifteen years earlier, shortly after Pat’s cousin was indicted for murdering Pat’s father. Tony broke Pat’s heart and unknowingly left her pregnant. Lacking guidance and the friendship of her cousin, Pat dropped out of high school. She spent her teen years as a delinquent unwed mother until a juvenile counselor and mentor helped her pursue a law enforcement career. Now, her daughter’s father is scheduled to die for murder and has agreed to confess to more than two dozen unsolved rape-murders, but only if Pat interrogates him. He eventually learns she has a child, whom he suspects is his. Tony’s sole remaining goal in his short life is to meet his child before the execution. Pat suspects that Tony, and not her cousin currently serving a twenty-year sentence, is responsible for murdering her father. She will do almost anything to save her cousin without revealing her daughter’s identity, but the serial killer holds the all the cards, or does he?
