Nathan Cheney

Nathan Cheney is a filmmaker and producer whose passion for storytelling ignited at the age of 13 when he borrowed his uncle's camera, using his artistic skills to sculpt and bring clay-animated stories to life. Growing up in Southeast Kansas, he nurtured his creativity through hands-on experimentation, developing a keen eye for visual storytelling. Armed with a B.F.A. in Cinema and Television, Nathan refined his ability to craft compelling narratives across multiple mediums.

His 2018 feature documentary, A Fatherless Generation, screened at three international film festivals and garnered widespread attention from celebrities, producers, and at-risk youth educators. Over the past decade, Nathan has focused on producing, editing, and directing branded content, and short films for major productions and network television.

He has story-produced and edited over 1,000 segments for People (The TV Show) and, as Senior Producer for a UK-based creative agency, led domestic and international teams on high-profile projects for brands like Amazon, FabFitFun, and NextDoor. His diverse portfolio includes work with National Geographic Wild, ABC Studios, and Warner Bros., as well as coverage of marquee events such as the Olympics, Emmys, and Golden Globes.
