Hi! A question for freelance videographers. How much would you charge for a 1-2 minute promotional video? I'm not sure how much I should charge starting out.

post this in filmmakers. It depends on the scale of the shoot. I'd say start modest so you don't out price yourself
Will do...That makes sense. Thanks for responding, Stephen.
you're very welcome! keep us posted!
What type of writer and director are you?
I write short and feature screenplays. I direct short films, would love to direct music videos, and hopefully features in the future. Still perfecting my craft and learning along the way
Oh,that's good .
How long should an audition last? Specifically how long should it last for a short film? Is 15 or 20 min okay?
Thank you

Expand commentThe audition should last as long as it takes for you to find out what you need to know from each actor. it also depends on how many characters you're casting and if this is the only audition you're having or if there will be callbacks. If this is a one off audition you may wish to only audition actors individually or you may wish to audition them individually and then pair some up to see what the chemistry is, if that is relevant to your project. It you take the latter approach the audition could be extended a bit. Fifteen to twenty minutes for the whole shebang doesn't sound like much but that really is up to you and what is required of the project.
Thank you Tommy that helps

It is my goal to turn this into a mini-series that chronicles the life of youth in Detroit. This will be my first major short that I plan to enter into film festivals. I need a DP, Gaffer, and a Sound/Boom Operator. If you have your own equipment that's great, if not don't worry I HAVE ACCESS TO SOME EQUIPMENT. However, this is a low-budget project and I can not afford to pay anyone. If you're looking for that one great opportunity like me, this is the project for you. Please fell free to contact me if you are interested. You can e-mail me at carlonese.powell@gmail.com Thank you for taking the time to read this.
