SYNOPSIS:
THE SEDUCTIVE SCHOOLHOUSE SCANDAL is ‘A Slice of Life’, with elements of suspense and crime. It is a shocking and unbelievable story, inspired by my personal experiences while teaching in Camden, New Jersey - labeled as one of the most dangerous and poorest cities in the country. I refer to this time as the 'dark years' of my life, as I was innocently pulled into a dangerous web of theft, lies, and deception. My survival was predicated on the fact that I ‘told the truth’. Synopsis: CINDY STONE is a teacher who transfers to Walnut Street School to become the reading tutor. She is unaware of the school’s reputation or illicit activities, and is seductively drawn into its deception. ALICIA PALMENARY has been employed as Walnut Street School’s secretary for many years. She's aware of the school's questionable activities and speaks her mind. JACK RUMFORD, Walnut Street School’s principal, portrays himself as sensitive, caring, and dedicated. On the contrary, he's ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing’. Jack is married, but he’s a womanizer and doesn’t try to conceal it. CATHY BLACK is the school’s vice-principal, and Jack's right hand. She'll go above and beyond the call of duty to protect him. WENDY TODD is the principal at State Street School and Jack's long-term mistress. Her female insecurities lend her to despise Cindy Stone. MR. LEN CORTEZ is the newly appointed assistant superintendent, and his primary goal to ‘bring Jack Rumford down’. When Cindy transfers to Walnut Street School, she’s confused by Jack's mental manipulation of his staff, and his unethical sexual behavior inside the building. Jack's involved in several illicit activities. He charges students for field trips that the district pays for and pockets the money. He bills the school district for leadership committee meetings that never occur. He also uses the school’s budget as his personal bank account to wine and dine his female companions. Jack's ongoing schemes come to a halt when Len Cortez is appointed assistant superintendent. His downfall begins when Mr. Cortez finds a discrepancy in payment vouchers for leadership committee meetings. When Len Cortez interrogates Cindy, she saves her job by telling the truth as she ‘spills the beans’ on Jack's meeting scam. As a result, Cindy’s nightmares begin as Jack harasses her about the meeting with Mr. Cortez. When Jack attempts to force Cindy’s hand, she takes a leave of absence out of fear. Because of Cindy’s truthfulness, Jack Rumford and Cathy Black are suspended. Wendy Todd is suspended because her school’s involved in the same scam. Cindy goes back to work, but she’s continually harassed by Jack and his staff ‘sympathizers’. The district launches a full investigation, and Alicia and Cindy cooperate with officials. Alicia is also exposed to various attacks; one of them resulting in hospitalization. When the district’s investigation is complete, the state department takes over. The entire school is interrogated by investigators, and their findings warrant a grand jury trial; Cindy and others testify at the grand jury; Consequently, Jack Rumford, Cathy Black and Wendy Todd are all indicted on several charges. One by one, as the parties enter into a plea bargain, Jack is the last man standing. He refuses to fold before he destroys Wendy's family for her betrayal. Finally, Cathy commits suicide, but Wendy and Jack serve time in jail for their theft, lies and deception at Walnut Street School. Justice is finally served.
