Anyone who puts themselves in the public eye, who is worth his/her salt, must stand for something. SO what do you stand for? I would like to know. What fires you up and makes your blood boil? what makes you sad and want to cry? Then what if I told you if we trace back to the root of every issue we f...

Expand commentI don't know about the higher frequency part but I do believe in God and yes we are all a part of the greater whole. If someone says they do not believe in the church or that it does not work for them, I say its because you have not brought your part to the table. Its like trying to drive a car with no steering wheel or breaks, each part is vital to the proper operation of the whole body of Christ. That's really the root of my question. What makes your blood boil, what do you believe in, and are you then willing to do something about it other than sit there and complain? I face that challenge daily in the ministry God has called me to. The Central NC Coalition for Men's Discipleship is about reaching men, asking them to do their part as God planned which will in turn be for the greater good of all. But those blessed with gifts and talents more often tan not stand back and wait as it someone else can bring their part to the dance.... If your not willing to do something then at least write a check to help those who are... www.cnc-cmd.com Bring your gifts talent and treasures and watch what God can do with them... Be blessed and thanks for sharing.

Expand commentMy principled stand is about (and here is an dated term) Gaia. This is a broader thing than being ecological or sustainable. My wife and I have tended some land for our whole life. It has about ½ mile of lakefront which we have left as a natural riparian zone - that is a lot of income to forgo in the name of Gaia. It is mostly fish breeding grounds which would have been destroyed by cottagers 'cleaning it up' and we spend more time than I like chasing people off it who just assume it is public and they are free to cut wood or hunt small mammals and so on. It has 45acres of land behind it which is now registered as a managed forest with goals primarily about habitat. We leave a lot of deadwood for our furry friends to set up homes taking very little as sustainable firewood. What breaks my heart is to see the water level managed so that the 'nature loving' city folk can roar around in their 300HP boats swamping nests and spewing fumes. I really believe that there will be a time that people who use recreational gas guzzlers will be viewed as despicable. So we are doing what we can and we have really invited a lot in preservation. CBC/PBS were nice enough to feature us on Cottage Life a while ago which some of you might have seen but if not (or also) you can have a little virtual visit here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/parquin/sets/72157594492013803/ I look forward to reading all your passions in this discussion Cheers, Mike

And, it is a joy that leaves me feeling grateful for the opportunity to give breath to the writer's imagination.

Expand commentAlle, yes you did pass with flying colors. And you have hit the target dead in the middle. Men. Men are typically the common denominator in each and every issue we face and deal with. Not just aggressive men or broken men, but at the root of every issue I know of is a man making a bad, or several bad decisions, choices, or actions. Its not about blaming men or bashing them either, its about recognizing it, and making a change. I asked about the one most thing that burdens you because I find even at that not everyone will be willing to do something about it. There in lies the real challenge, does your burden hurt you enough to make you want to do something about it if you knew what to do? Because the biggest issue of all is standing back watching as America falls and doing nothing to help....... That's where Man in the Mirror ministries comes in. When you can see what is breaking your heart, yet you don't know where to turn, who to turn to, or what you can do to make a real difference, we can help.... we are spending our lives learning and sharing a process, not a program, not more work to do, but rather a process to help men make better choices and to live lives with a transformed heart for Christ. From this all issues will be improved. If you are in NC I would love to come and share with you and your group, family, church whatever, about what Gods plans are to make a real difference in the battle for Men's souls. If you are in another part of America, you can check with me and I'll try to link you with te closest area director or you can visit www.maninthemirror.org I would like to thank everyone for their input and comments, I am always seeking to learn more about the things in life that are most important to us. God bless you all.
