ONE INCH PUNCH

ONE INCH PUNCH
By Danny Matier

GENRE: Action
LOGLINE:

Betrayed by his father, Jake Lacey is forced to grow-up in the city's underground fighting pits. After years of punching his way out of hell, he emerges as a true warrior. Yet, his toughest fight is still ahead as he faces his stolen past and a love that was torn from him.

SYNOPSIS:

Jake Lacey lives in a trailer, in the middle of a junkyard, with his gambling addict father Matt. Jake's dream is to fight in the MMA, the ambition of a small town kid desperate to elevate his place in the world. Jake has nothing but a burning passion to fight his way to a better life with his girlfriend Brittany and best friend Vincent. Brittany and Jake's love for one another is the stuff of fairy tales, and she always tells him "I love you, as a flower loves the rain."

The boys want to fight and nothing short of the world title will suffice. Brittany wants to get them that chance and has secured a meeting with a potential trainer, someone who can give them a shot at their dream. Yet for Jake, his father is always in trouble with loan sharks and one such loan shark is Lance, the head of a crime syndicate that controls all the underground fights in the city.

Unable to pay his latest debt, Matt assures Lance he's onto a sure thing and will have his money to him in two days. Lance watches an impressive Jake training in the junkyard and notes his strength and fighter's body. Lance proposes that if Matt cannot pay his debt, he will take Jake in place of the debt. Matt agrees to the deal.

Matt cannot pay, and Jake is thrown into the world of underground fighting. Torn away from Brittany and Vincent, he is now enslaved to a debt that was never his.

Raised to fight in the depths of hell, Jake eventually becomes a great underground fighter. While outside in the free world, Vincent rises through the ranks in legally sanctioned fights to claim the belt he and Jake dreamed of years before.

Once freed from the illegal fights, Jake is thrust back into the world with nothing. As he attempts to put his life back together, the past returns, revealing breaking family bonds is the hardest fight of all.
