Overview:
Deadly Romance, a Tale of Love, Betrayal, and Redemption, is a screenplay based on the poetic narrative of Rumi, the revered Persian poet, and scholar from the 13th century.
The story unfolds in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, decades before their fateful destruction, revolving around the charismatic 22-year-old Adam, the son of a famous chiropractor, Dr. Haron.
Adam's aspirations to become a great actor clash with his father's dreams of him becoming a doctor. The plot thickens as Adam and his best friend Joseph embark on a journey of self-discovery through acting, sword fighting, and horse riding.
The catalyst occurs when Herod, the corrupt son of Sodom's mayor and openly gay, becomes captivated by Adam's beauty. This fascination sets off a chain of events that ultimately lead to the murder of Adam's father by Herod. When Adam avenges his father's death by killing Herod, he becomes a wanted criminal. Seeking refuge in disguise, Adam works as a female massage therapist by the name of Nasuha in the capital city, Gomorrah, recommended by Mr. Job, Joseph's wealthy uncle.
As Nasuha (Adam) becomes the ideal service provider for Princess Clara, all the while facing the constant risk of his true identity being revealed. The plot takes unexpected turns as a notorious thief plans to rob the spa's aristocratic patrons, putting Nasuha at the center of the action.
The screenplay explores Adam's internal conflict, torn between living a normal life as a man and the fear of facing unjust authorities. The stakes escalate when Princess Clara's necklace goes missing in the spa, prompting a thorough search, including the protagonist. Saved from the predicament, Nasuah (Adam) commits himself to quitting his job and immigrating to the neighboring country.
During his trip to Hebron, Adam plays a pivotal role in thwarting the remnants of the notorious thief, Aleron who tries to rob Job's Caravan. The climax reveals Adam's true identity, bringing forth a touching revelation to Mr. Job, who offers Adam a managerial position in his company taking charge of his business in the then city Hebron.
As Adam resumes life as a man, he becomes a respected figure in Hebron, completing his higher education, teaching part-time, and even finding love. Deadly Romance weaves a fascinating tale of love, betrayal, and redemption, offering a fresh perspective on identity, courage, and the pursuit of dreams.
I believe this screenplay has the potential to make a good movie that captivates audiences with its unique blend of historical drama, romance, and suspense. I would be thrilled to discuss this project further and explore how it could become a captivating addition to any director or producer’s distinguished portfolio.
