SYNOPSIS:

Bettie, a Las Vegas cocktail waitress, finds out she has breast cancer while going in for breast implants. On her last night on the job she prevents a suicide from happening on top of the parking garage. She deals with the struggles of her new life with the help of her teenaged daughter Rose and mother Gwendolyn, who both are fighting their own battles. Rose hides her true identity, and Gwendolyn is in denial with the passing of her husband. When things reach a breaking point Bettie crosses paths with the suicidal person, Marlon. Marlon is a Mormon transgender male that was forced away from his family in Utah in order to spare the family shame while he underwent his top surgery and hormonal therapy. Bettie and Marlon have much more in common than they realize. The two develop a close-knit friendship as together they learn to cope in their new lives and deal with their families.
