In a climate-ravaged future, where the Earth is on the brink of collapse, a homeless teenage math prodigy competes for a coveted spot on a space exploration mission with three other candidates while secretly yearning to find her father's missing spaceship.
SYNOPSIS:
Drew's life drastically turns after she loses her mother, who leaves her homeless. Despite her qualifications, Drew struggles to find a job and resorts to doing computer calculations in a subway corridor, where she meets Farah, a fortune teller who not only becomes her mentor but also a kind and warm support in her life.
Since it is an ensemble cast, we meet Mary, Steve, and Kyoko before their destinies intertwine with Drew's. They all respond to an advertisement for a mission to Mars and are selected to undergo psychological and physical tests. After a two-week simulation of life on Mars, which carried high stakes and tension and was also intended to test the group cohesion, Drew is unfairly expelled for failing a mission.
After being exonerated, Drew, along with the rest of the group, must undergo a final interview with the Grand Jury to determine the one who will go on the mission. They endure a long wait in a room where the test truly begins. As if in an escape game, they must find a digital code to free Mary, who is panicking and can’t breathe because she is locked in the toilet with a dead body. Each candidate’s reaction reveals their true personality, strengths, and weaknesses.

You could leave out: "with three other candidates". Most readers/viewers don't care how many other hopefuls there are. The shorter the better. Love the rest.
