SYNOPSIS:

An early season South swell has filled in along the California coast. Avoiding the summer crowds, surfer Craig Turner decides to surf at his secret Central California spot. Just before sunset, he decides to catch one more wave. While sitting peacefully on his surfboard, waiting for the next set to roll through, he is attacked and mauled to death by a massive great white shark.

When he doesn't return home, his worried wife contacts the authorities. Seeking expertise, Santa Barbara Sheriff, Jerry O'Conner, reaches out to his long time friend, Professor Bob Koziak.

Bob Koziak teaches marine biology at the University of California Santa Barbara. Bored, bitter, and recently separated from his wife, Bob's purpose in life has started to diminish. The two things that keep him going, is his Australian Shepard Brody, and his prized grad student, Vicky Garcia. Vicky lost her dad at a young age and now looks to Bob as a father figure.

After a second gruesome shark attack, Bob's options are running out. With some coaxing, he realizes that he's going to have to swallow his pride and get in touch with his estranged brother, Brandon.

Brandon is a shark expert turned shark poacher. He left California after causing a terrible accident that killed their father. Between Bob's resentment and Brandon's guilt, the two brothers haven't spoken in years.

Bob tracks his little brother down and with a little work, their relationship starts over. After devising a well thought out plan, The two brothers, Vicky, her fiancé Nathan, and their two dogs, set out to sea in search of the predator.

Tragedy and triumph set in when the shark they are hunting, begins to hunt them. Not all goes as planned. All will fight. Not all will return. Those that do will never forget...
