Tim, good to meet you too! I play guitar, bass, drums and keys. But a lot of the stuff I do now is mostly virtual instruments. In these cases, I am always playing keys to compose the parts. (I use a Triton Extreme as a MIDI controller) What about you?
Many years

If I could have any composer score my film, living or dead, it would be...
Thanks Kimberly! Had to share on FB!!!!!
Lots of good suggestions here - alive and dead(!) One thing to consider is the genre of your film. Some composers are associated with specific genres like action, suspense, horror, comedy, drama, animation or quirky/oddball stuff, but might not be the best choice in other genres.
John Williams of course. Hans Zimmer and Howard Shore, James Horner, and Jerry Goldsmith god rest his soul. Unlike some of the new blood, they can write lots of themes and plenty supporting harmony and countermelody, the audience is in good, safe hands when they score a film.
If you could work with ONE person (living or dead) who would it be and why?
As I said... and Today is why. By the way Joe, it is undoubtedly the case that God has a sense of humor. Have you ever had a good look at a an anteater? A tapir? A platypus? Don King?
LOL. Michael, you need to stop. Don King...! lol. I actually had had the, um... pleasure of meeting him once when I worked in sports PR. Was not impressed... at all! But, oddly enough, quite funny (though more peculiar than ha-ha) to behold.
Can i be greedy and say 2, it will be Al Pacino with Denzel Washington in the same movie

I was cast to play Scott Summers aka Cyclops in X-Men: The War of Tomorrow. It's a Short Film that will then continue as episodes to be viewed over the internet. So I'm really excited for that!
That's awesome! How did you hear about that project? Do you know when it will air?

We haven't discussed the episodes yet, so I'm not sure when that will be filmed--probably shortly after though
You should be. What kind of music do you like to compose for? or listen to?

Expand commentHello, Tim. Yeah, 8 years now whilst learning the art and craft of screenwriting. That's a very good question. I don't think it was me who came across the idea but more like the idea came to me - i came out of a bad relationship and just wrote about this character and as the years passed it changed and formed into what it is today. So, you compose music? Wow, very interesting. Do you know of Ludovico Einaudi? Love his pieces. Thanks for connecting!
I'm sorry to hear about the bad relationship, but it's great that something good came out of it. I find that a lot of great ideas stem from bad relationships. 500 Days of Summer, Adele... Do ideas nor...

I find that a lot of great ideas stem from bad relationships. 500 Days of Summer, Adele... Do ideas normally just come to you, or do you find yourself searching for them? There's a great screenwriting book I found (I refer to it as the Bible of screenwriting) called The Story Solution by Eric Edson. It outlines scene by scene (roughly) the steps of the lead character's arc. Normally, I'm pretty skeptical of these things, but I've watched a bunch of movies with this in mind, and he's dead accurate every time. You should check it out! I do a lot of things. Music, motion graphics, editing, directing, writing... I don't know Einaudi, but I'm listening to him right now, and he is very good. Some of his pieces almost remind me of Alan Menken. I don't know why, though. I respect your taste. My favorite film composer is John Williams, by a long shot. Aside from film composing, I'm going through a Jeff Buckley phase. What kind of music do you listen to? I assume your favorite movie is Rocky? How to 2 and 3 compare to the original?
