A second-generation Mexican American detective is intentionally called into an exclusive gated community to investigate the mysterious death of an undocumented immigrant.  

SYNOPSIS:

Detective Delgado is expected to turn a blind eye to the insignificant death of an undocumented immigrant inside a private gated world. But when Delgado meets the sister of the dead man, something awakens within. Remembering his mother's fawning advice about being a good American, in contrast with his father's desire to remain a fisherman in Mexico, Delgago is torn between two philosophies about internal and external success. By following the sordid characters down their various rabbit-holes, Delgado uncovers an unsavory world order that allows for the unspeakable. In the end, he must reconcile his blood with their blood...
