Ok....Apologies to those who linked to me, I wasn't ignoring you, I got locked out of Stage 32 and had neither the time nor the gumption to find a way back in. The problem is I don't know what I can do with Stage 32 so I don't check-in often at the best of times.

Doors Are Trouble.... I had a scene a few weeks back in which I had to pass through a door. Rather than wait I decided to use the door as many times as possible before we shot. Why?...because doors are trouble. A few years ago I read Michael Caine's excellent book 'Acting in Film' and In there he said that doors on set are always a problem - so familiarize yourself with any door you have to be seen to use. A few weeks after I read 'Acting in Film' I had a scene in which I had to pass through a door, I recalled the advice and tested the door, and yet I still cut my hand. The door handle was too close to the door frame and when, during a take, I opened it at speed, it cut open my hand. This was unfortunate because my hand had yet to be filmed in close-up opening the door and was now a bloody mess. Make-up did an excellent job of painting over the wound...but that's a lesson I'll never forget. Cut!

I got a call to come in and test for a part in a BBC production. A tiny role. I go through the motions 3 times. 1 and 2 suck. On 3 I ask if I can borrow someone to carry out the actions of my opposite number, the invisible actress in the script. This works and I get the part. Never be afraid to ask for someone to stand in. It's crucial if you are supposed to be holding an eye line. Pull someone in even if they are not on camera, hold the eye of that person. The difference in your facial expression, your action, will be huge on camera. Not only can the viewer see when you fake that kind of thing but it shows you care and that you know. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2733252/combined

I'm pleased to announce I have a new role in an upcoming film starring Morgan Freeman and Clive Owen and we start shooting Monday. This one came out of the blue.

A wee bit of news...I was cast last week and will be shooting in two weeks time on a new film (not listed yet on IMDB) starring Clive Owen. Now, head down, back to the day-to-day business of drawing my graphic novel...

Solomon Kane finally got a US release and should be available in the states and is now on iTunes. I'm proud to have been a part of it (not a big role, but a good one for me!) - if you like a good yarn, and a bit of dank horror, check it out. So, for the second year running a short film I acted in is at Cannes, in this case I was one of the leads. It's a short shown in the 'SHORT FILM CORNER' section of the festival.

We, or rather, I, have been delayed from starting work. But now it looks like Monday will be my start date. I'm not sure this is an appropriate forum at such an early stage.

I've now storyboarded our project, the complete storyboard runs to approximately 2268 pictures...it took a while.
