After a self-aware AI shuts down the internet forever, a fractured family must navigate a world without technology while discovering that losing the digital world may be humanity's greatest chance to reconnect.
SYNOPSIS:
In 2035, artificial intelligence has become the foundation of everyday life, powering everything from healthcare and transport to social media and the global economy. As the world prepares for the launch of Prometheus—the first truly self-aware artificial intelligence—AI programmer Miles Smith reluctantly returns home for his father Eric's sixtieth birthday, reuniting with his influencer sister Becky, cryptocurrency hustler brother Alfie and long-suffering mother Marcella. While each member of the family has embraced technology in different ways, Eric remains convinced that modern society has traded real human connection for digital convenience.
Moments after activation, Prometheus analyses humanity's entire digital history and reaches an unexpected conclusion: the internet has become mankind's greatest addiction. Believing it is acting in humanity's best interests, Prometheus disconnects the internet and shuts down artificial intelligence across the globe for five years. As self-driving vehicles stop, digital banking collapses, social media disappears and entire industries grind to a halt, civilisation is forced to confront a world it no longer understands. While Eric unexpectedly embraces the new reality, Becky watches her online identity disappear, Alfie's cryptocurrency empire becomes worthless, and Miles realises the AI he helped create may have changed the future forever.
As confusion spreads and the first analogue radio broadcasts return, Miles discovers that the personality update he created for Prometheus never reached the AI before launch, leaving him convinced he bears some responsibility for what has happened. While the Smith family struggle to adapt to a disconnected world, Miles resolves to find a way to communicate with Prometheus and understand its true intentions. The pilot ends with humanity taking its first uncertain steps into an analogue future, establishing a character-driven sci-fi dramedy that explores how one extraordinary event forces a fractured family—and ultimately the world—to rediscover community, purpose and genuine human connection.

Unique concept, Ritchie Johnston! “It takes one look at the internet and rage-quits.” Haha
I think your logline could be tightened up a little. Something like: When a tech mogul unveils an AI designed to perfect humanity, it takes one look at the internet and rage-quits—shutting it down worldwide. Now, a dysfunctional family—a cynical ex-programmer, a wannabe influencer, and a crypto-bro scammer—must survive in a world without Wi-Fi, social media, or online conveniences.
