About Kent

Kent Michael Altman is a passionate screenwriter navigating the realms of TV, film, and theatre, weaving together poignant narratives that challenge the status quo. As a proud gay millennial Southerner embracing his identity while critiquing societal norms, he delves into themes of class struggle, environmentalism, and social justice. His work, rooted in the earnestness of lived experiences and sprinkled with humor, seeks to illuminate the complexities of power, truth, and the importance of diversity. Through science fantasy family drama, he invites audiences to go on a daring journey toward hope and freedom, where cooperation and justice reign.

Kent is the creator of the fan-produced Star Trek audio drama: Operation Eos, which has been downloaded in more than 40 countries since launching. Growing up, his dad was an animator at Disney Feature Animation, helping him to "catch the bug" early on and instilling a deep passion for storytelling. He honed that passion in the Central Florida theatre community for more than a decade before switching coasts to follow his dream of writing and creating shows for television. Between 2016 and 2020, he had the great fortune and challenge of line-producing four feature films and more than a dozen shorts and music videos. When not focusing on Hollywood ambitions, he enjoys baking, singing, and hanging out with his seven cats. Kent's original one-act play "The Untold Story of the Sword and the Stone" will be performed at the University Interscholastic League annual theatre competition in Texas in spring 2025.
