SYNOPSIS:
Holt Collier was Born a slave and at a young age was a hunting and shooting prodigy. He became a Heroic Confederate Soldier, Was tried and acquitted of a murder, became a Texas Cowboy, an outlaw hunting Deputy sheriff in Mississippi, A professional hunter and a Guide for President Theodore Roosevelt, who declared him to be "The Best Hunting Guide I have ever seen". It was Holt who Roped and tied the Bear Roosevelt refused to shoot---inspiring the "Teddy Bear" toy. On a Second Hunt , Holt helps Roosevelt finally shoot a black bear. Holt Collier becomes the first, nationally famous, African-American sports Celebrity.
