Expand commentThanks...BTW My third husband died July 30th..and I have met a wonderful, caring adoring man. He is older then I wanted, because I am really so youthful....but he is sweet, a great lover...and is taking me on a cruise in September I LOVE cruises...and spend time playing the piano, bingo and of course appearing in the fashion show and talent show..i went on a lot of cruises with my second husband... Re" my modeling career. I started posing at the Art Students League in NYC while I was in High School.. I loved the smell of and the squeak of the markets...Of course, that was before Magic Markers, .but just as good...even better. I loved posing....they always wanted me to pose nude, but I did not want to do that.. I was invited to pose for some students who left and got jobs as fashion illustrators and that led to my being the favorite model of the most famous fashion illustrators in N.Y. I posed for ads that appeared in full pages in Sundays NY Times for B Altman, Bloomingdale's, Lord and Taylor and more...Some of the famous illustrators were Inga Pratt and Lillian Edgerton and on the pages of Glamour, Seventeen and Charm...I posed for Andy Warhol...it appeared in Seventeen......I also did a lot of runway. I had some agents for print and runway, but got the illustrator jobs on my own. I was getting between $5.00 to $10.00 an hour!!!! The top models/.like Lisa Fonsegreves were getting $25.00 per hour. Of course milk was 17 cents a quart, eggs about 35cents..etc When I was in my early teens my mother would give me a dollar and I would buy a "Well baked rye bread, sliced with seeds for 10c....a dozen eggs, pound of bananas and a quart of milk and a pound of butter...and being change...When I went on my go-sees to photographers at 480 Lexington ./one was the very young Richard Avedon.....and to the advertising agency's I had to be dressed...hose, pumps, gloves and a hat...When I go to the city for shoots or auditions I see messy, poorly dressed people. You had to carry a hat box which held your make-up and accessorites...it also identified you as a model and loved that I took the subway from Brooklyn to the city for my work...Lillian Edgerton had her studio in the Brooklyn Eagle building in Brooklyn because she married into that family. I continued posing for her after my first child, Claudia Jane was born. I had Kay Flemming come in two days a week after two weeks at home and my mother in law on another day...I knew even though I loved being a "mama" and nursing....that I had to go back to work...if I stayed home for seven days I would not have been happy...I raised give wonderful children and always did some part time work or work from home...I never wanted to work full time and have someone else raise my children...Then after a while, I signed with an agent and went back as a model...I have done lots of print, catalog, small parts in independent films and lots of TV commercials...and LOVE every minute of it...including the auditions...I am usually told I look too young, but still get lots of jobs...LOVE it and will never retire... Advantage Alert..my latest commercial is online now...SSA Reverse Mortgage ran until recently on TV...and WellCare...where I portrayed a hippy...headband, and guitar...was on for months last year and we all shot another for this year Just keep on keeping on...as Len Chandler sings...and told it to me in person....Age is really just a number...Phoebe..
I am so delighted that Amanda has invited me to BLOG....I have some wonderful stories....about my modeling, acting and folk singing ONGOING career...and love to share them.....*editor's please note..so we can publish my book" Phoebe
What a strong heart and artist you are! Chapeau!

I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The woman below replied, "You are in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You are between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude." "You must be an Production Manager," said the balloonist. "I am," replied the woman, "How did you know?" "Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I am still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help so far." The woman below responded, "You must be a Producer." "I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?" "Well," said the woman, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You have risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise which you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my fault. (To me unknown fine artist and writer!)
