I'm curious to know what folks think about this question: what is the difference between supernatural horror and elevated horror?
One of the July Filmmakers Club challenges this week is share a favorite story from my time on set or pose a question that I’d like answered about set etiquette, crew roles, or production. I've never been on set, so I'll post a question: what’s a major set etiquette that crew members should be aware of when they’re on set?
Thank you, William Joseph Hill , Ashley Renee Smith , Maurice Vaughan , and @Xochi Blymyer!...

It's solid general survey, nonetheless, there a number of positions omitted. For instance, in the art department, there are set designers (who used to called draftsmen), who draft up the building plans for the construction people.
Yes, I had to focus on the top roles in each department and leave out some of the integral support crew to fit it all in. But there are certainly more people who are so necessary to the overall process, especially on larger studio projects.

It's just there. Unmotivated lighting is often used in horror films when the cinematographer is trying create mood. Unmotivated lighting is a very expressionistic style of lighting whereas motivated lighting tends to be a more realistic approach.
Intriguing take, Gare. Thanks for sharing.
Not bad. Very simply stated, but at times misleading. For instance, the actual distance from the foreground to the background has no bearing in cinema. In theater yes; but in cinema; no.
This is exactly what Coffee and Content is intended to do, inspire healthy debate. Appreciate your input Gare Cline
